The Hub

Project Type:

A multi-purpose creative centre, with an array of interconnected and flexible spaces in the heart of the vibrant Glasgow’s West End. The project was developed around the themes of movement and contrast which were inspired by the work of French concept artist Daniel Burren and contemporary Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson. DeStijl movement served as an aesthetic guide, helping to reconcile the location, the programme, and the conceptual aspirations of the project. The main elements of the architectural resolution consist of planes, free flowing space, contrast of surface colours and textures, and the sound which would flow through the spaces.
